We had a good turnout of 23 juniors who came along to learn and play chess. We welcomed the support of Manuela and Beatrice both from Bournemouth chess club to stand in for Paul and Azhar who were playing in the chess congress at Falmouth in Cornwall. Good luck to them!
We welcomed Teddy for the beginners’ course (a real bundle of joy!) and also Darius (grade1800) who was visiting from the Bournemouth chess Club.
Tony set out 8 puzzles from 2-5 move combinations and our A team players managed to nearly solve them all. Aarav was the top player in this group – so well done Aarav.
Eric set out 6 puzzles for the 2nd advanced group and all did well with up to the 4 move combination on the last one. Neil was probably the winner here, followed by Joey and Jesse. Darius whisked through them, showing his strength.
