This did result in depleting our numbers slightly, along with the fact it is half term, but we still had 21 enthusiastic juniors attend our Saturday morning classes.

Eric is recovering from recent surgery, so we wish him a speedy recovery as he was sorely (no pun intended) missed. But with many thanks to Tony Sanderson and Martin O Neill, the advanced groups were educated and entertained with a collection of puzzles and analysis of some Bobby Fischer games.

Steve, Paul, Leo, Azhar and Graham covered an array of essential chess tactics including Endgame techniques, why and when to castle options, openings and values of exchanges.

Beginners Course

A reminder we will be starting a new beginners course after Easter, a few places left, so book ASAP to ensure a place, full details available in our “POSTS” page.

Ladder positions

Wins today for Tristan, Leo, Lathujan, Pavina, Noah, Eduard, Alfie, Neil, Rafan and Filip, which means the ladders now look like this:-
