We are getting regular new enquiries regarding teaching chess to beginners, along with other junior chess clubs in the Dorset area, as our current system of teaching on a Saturday morning is running at a maximum, we have unfortunately had to decline enquiries.
We are now looking to re-address the situation, so to that end, we are prepared to revamp our normal Saturday morning routine to enable us to accommodate yet another class purely for beginners.
This will take the form of a special 8 week course running every Saturday from 27th April to the 15th June 2024 at the Bournemouth Central Library, in a dedicated room on the top floor. We envisage accommodating up to 10 pupils on a first-come-first-served basis, so act now to save a place.
The time of the course will be from 10.30am until 11.30am, comprising of tuition for 30mins and then a games time of approx. 30mins, crucially, the start and finish times must be strictly adhered to as to not interfere with other ongoing lessons.
Some typical topics that will be covered are:-
All equipment is supplied, all tutors are DBS certified, attendance and performance certificates will be presented at the conclusion of the course.
Juniors who can show an appetite and ability, along with a good understanding of chess may be able to join the intermediate classes on a regular basis, once the course is complete.
The fee for the complete 8 week course will be a one-off payment of £60, irrespective of the number of weeks attended.
