Over the last 3 months our All-Play-All event has produced some great games and some not so great games, but the experience in playing competitively is game changing. Well done to all those who took part, next year we will resume with the infamous Ladder competition.

The juniors who have shown good chess skills and improvement that need a mention are:-

Best of Advanced players:-

Leo with 9 1/2 points

Zander and Jen with 9 points

Finn, Woody and Jesse with 6 points

Kane. Marcel and Joey with 5 points

Beginners and Intermediates best of:-

Lathujan, Daniel and Tay with 4 points

Diana, Lewis and Leyah with 3 1/2 points each

Our beginners sections are bursting at the seams, we have many juniors who are not quite ready to play competitive games yet, but hopefully with more tuition and practise, we will soon have a very strong squad of players.

Lightning Tournament

On Saturday 18th Dec will be our last meeting this year, we will be having a fun filled day with a new format in the way of a “Lightning Tournament” where you have only 10 seconds to make a move, easy enough in the opening moves, but very panicky as the game progresses. We intend to adjudicate unfinished games after aprox 20 minutes. so we can get maybe 6 or more rounds in.
